Jacob R. Lauten

Jacob began his career with Cowden in September 2021, as an analyst for the employee benefits practice. He provides analytical and consulting services support for a wide range of clients.

As an analyst, he is responsible for assisting health and benefits clients manage their health and welfare plans. His primary responsibilities include analyzing client financial data, researching benefits compliance issues, and employee communications development.

Jacob has experience with health insurance regulation and an actuarial background. Prior to joining Cowden, he assisted with the implementation of the first reinsurance waiver under section 1332 of the ACA for Alaska and served as one of seven trustees for 17,000 participants for the Alaska State Employee Association.

Jacob is a graduate from the Pennsylvania State University, with a degree in actuarial science. Jacob received his Pennsylvania Life, Accident and Health license in January 2022 and has credentials with Certificate of Achievement in Public Plan Policy (CAPPP), Accredited Insurance Examiner (AIE), and Market Conduct Management (MCM). He has passed five of the Society of Actuaries (SOA) actuarial exams.
